Remember Becker? That show about the grumpy doctor and his quirky pals? It feels like just yesterday we were all tuning in. But time, as it does, has marched on. He's like the Energizer Bunny, but with more tweed jackets and a better sense of comedic timing. I maintain Ted Danson gets better with age. Anyone disagree? I didn't think so.

Then there was our ray of sunshine (or maybe a slightly passive-aggressive ray of sunshine), Nancy Travis, who played the ever-so-patient Bob. Bob, bless her heart, was the voice of reason in Becker's chaotic world. She was the one who tried to keep him from spiraling. And what has Nancy Travis been up to? She’s been doing her thing, and doing it well. You might have spotted her in the heartwarming series Last Man Standing as Vanessa Baxter, the wife of Tim Allen's character. She brought that same warmth and understated strength to the role. She’s also popped up in other shows, proving she’s a versatile actress who can bring depth to any character. She’s one of those actresses you see and think, "Oh yeah, I like her!"

Let's talk about the always-optimistic, slightly-delusional Reggie. Or rather, Alex Désert. He played Jake Malina, Becker's friend and owner of the diner. Jake was the guy who always had a bright idea, even if it was a terrible one. Alex Désert has been steadily working since Becker. He’s a familiar face in many a TV show and movie. He’s had roles in everything from NCIS to The Flash. He’s also a talented musician, which is pretty cool. He’s one of those actors who you might not immediately place, but once you see him, you’re reminded of his presence. He’s a solid performer who keeps showing up, and we appreciate that.

And who could forget the perpetually exasperated, yet somehow still loyal, Linda. Played by Hattie Winston. Linda was the receptionist who saw it all and heard it all. She was often the brunt of Becker's rants, but she always managed to hold her own. Hattie Winston has had a long and distinguished career in acting. While she might not be a household name for this particular role, she’s a veteran of stage and screen. She’s appeared in numerous television shows and films over the years, showcasing her range and talent. She’s a testament to the many working actors who contribute so much to our favorite shows.

Now, let's move on to some of the supporting cast who really made the show pop. Remember Doug, the blind, yet surprisingly perceptive, friend? Played by Gary Anthony Williams. He brought such a unique energy to the show. Gary Anthony Williams has also been very active. He’s a powerhouse voice actor, lending his talents to animated shows and video games. Think of all those cartoon characters and video game heroes you love; there’s a good chance he’s been behind one of them. He’s also appeared in live-action roles, demonstrating his impressive versatility. He's a true talent.

And then there was Margaret, the ever-so-proper and slightly intimidating neighbor. Played by Frances Conroy. Frances Conroy! Talk about an actress who’s gone on to do amazing things. She’s become a regular fixture in the world of American Horror Story, transforming herself into all sorts of wonderfully spooky characters. She’s also had roles in other acclaimed series like Six Feet Under and Orange Is the New Black. Honestly, seeing her now, you’d barely recognize the mild-mannered Margaret, and that’s a testament to her incredible acting chops. She’s a chameleon.

We can't forget Ernie, the eccentric owner of the comic book store. Played by Dan Castellaneta. Yes, that Dan Castellaneta! The voice of Homer Simpson! Isn’t that wild? He was Ernie on Becker and Homer Simpson. He’s done so much more in the world of voice acting, but to have been both Ernie and Homer? That’s a career highlight for most people, and he's done it with such apparent ease. He's a legend in the voice acting community, and it's fun to remember his live-action role on Becker.

And what about Monica, the often-flustered neighbor? Played by Alexandra Wentworth. Alexandra Wentworth has gone on to have a very interesting career. She’s a writer, producer, and actress. She’s married to George Stephanopoulos, which is, you know, a thing. She’s also known for her witty commentary and has appeared on various talk shows. She’s branched out and found her own distinct path, which is fantastic to see.

It’s funny, isn’t it? You watch these shows, and the characters become like old friends. And then you see what those actors are doing now, and it’s a reminder of how much time has passed and how talented these individuals are. They’ve all gone on to do such different things, some more visible than others, but each contributing to the tapestry of television and film.
