Remember American Gladiators? That show was pure chaos. Grown adults in tiny outfits were battling it out. They were on giant inflatable things. It was the 2008 reboot, specifically. This was the one with the really cool graphics.
Let’s be honest, we all watched it. Maybe you secretly watched it. Maybe you watched it with your kids. Or maybe you just stumbled upon it while flipping channels. Whatever the reason, you probably remember the Gladiators. They were a special breed of athlete. And they had some pretty epic names.
Today, we’re going to take a peek. We’re going to see what those muscle-bound warriors are up to. Are they still crushing contestants? Are they running their own obstacle courses? Or have they traded their foam bats for something a little more… grounded?
The Mighty Men
First up, we have the guys. These were the titans of terror. They were the reason contestants probably needed therapy. And we loved every minute of it.
Titan
Ah, Titan. He was a mountain of a man. He always looked like he just woke up from a nap and was ready to wrestle a bear. His muscles were legendary. Seriously, they had their own zip code.
So, what’s Titan up to now? Well, he’s still a beast. He’s into fitness, of course. He’s a personal trainer. He’s probably still yelling at people to do more burpees. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a Gladiator-themed gym.
Imagine that. “Welcome to Titan’s Power Pit! Today we conquer the Eliminator!” It’s got a ring to it, right? He also seems to be enjoying life. And still rocking the physique. Good for him!
Typhoon
Then there was Typhoon. He was fast. He was furious. He was… well, a typhoon. He’d come at you with the speed of a runaway train.
Typhoon, whose real name is William “Willy” Morris, has had a bit of a career shift. He’s still involved in fitness. But he’s also a competitive bodybuilder. And he’s got a passion for martial arts.

So, while he might not be slamming contestants on the show anymore, he’s definitely still out there. Probably winning trophies. And maybe still looking intimidating. Just a little more… refined.
Venom
Venom. The name alone makes you wince. He was all about precision and power. He had that intense stare. You knew if Venom was in the arena, things were about to get serious.
After his Gladiator days, Venom (Kimo Leopoldo) continued his athletic pursuits. He’s still very active. He’s been involved in mixed martial arts. He’s also a coach.
So, while the days of him on the Gladiators set might be over, he’s not exactly retired on a beach. He’s still fighting the good fight. Just probably in a ring with fewer trampolines and a lot more rules.
Gear
Gear. He was the mechanic of destruction. Always looking like he was ready to fix a race car or… you know, demolish a human. He had that rugged, no-nonsense vibe.
Gear (Rene R. Castro) seems to have embraced a quieter life. He’s still into fitness and staying in shape. But the spotlight has dimmed a bit. He’s more of a behind-the-scenes guy now.

I like to imagine he’s still tinkering with something. Maybe he’s building his own Gladiator obstacle courses. Or perhaps he’s just enjoying a well-deserved break. And maybe he’s got a really nice toolbox.
The Fierce Females
Now, let’s not forget the ladies. The female Gladiators were just as formidable. They could throw down with the best of them. And they looked amazing doing it.
Dynamite
Dynamite. What a name. She was all energy and explosive power. She brought the heat. And she definitely lived up to her name.
Dynamite (Aja Volkman) has had a fascinating journey. She’s actually a successful musician. She’s the lead singer of the band Nico Vega. Talk about a different kind of stage presence!
So, while she might not be launching contestants anymore, she’s still captivating audiences. Just with her voice and her music. And I bet her stage moves are just as electrifying.
Echo
Echo. She was the one you could hear coming. And then, boom! You were on the floor. She was a force of nature in a sparkly costume.

Echo (Gabrielle Reece) was already a recognizable figure before the show. She’s a legendary volleyball player. And after American Gladiators, she’s continued to be a prominent personality in the fitness and sports world.
She’s a speaker, a coach, and an author. She’s all about empowering people. So, she’s still very much in the game, just in a much broader sense.
Ice
Ice. She was cool. She was collected. And she could definitely freeze you in your tracks. She had that icy demeanor. And a killer physique.
Ice (Karina L. Porter) seems to be enjoying a more private life. She’s still focused on health and fitness. But she’s not as publicly active as some of the others. And that’s perfectly okay.
Sometimes, after being in the intense spotlight of a show like American Gladiators, a little peace and quiet is exactly what you need. I bet she’s mastered the art of the perfect snow day.
Storm
Storm. She was fierce and unpredictable. You never knew what she was going to do. She brought a certain intensity to the arena.

Storm (Marie-Elisabeth Laursen) has continued her career in entertainment. She’s worked as a stunt performer and in other acting roles. So, she’s still very much in the world of action and excitement.
While she might not be a Gladiator anymore, she’s still out there doing amazing things. Probably jumping off things. And looking incredibly cool while doing it. A true professional.
The Unpopular Opinion?
Here’s my unpopular opinion. I kind of miss them. I miss the absurdity. I miss the over-the-top costumes. I miss the sheer, unadulterated fun of it all.
These Gladiators were unique. They were characters. They were the epitome of a very specific, very loud era of television. And while they’re all doing great things now, a part of me wishes they’d all get back in costume. Just for one more episode. A reunion special?
Imagine Titan vs. Typhoon again. Or Dynamite facing off against Storm. The world needs that kind of entertainment. It’s pure, glorious silliness. And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.
So, to the Gladiators of 2008, we salute you! You were a wild ride. And we’re glad to see you’re all still thriving. Even if you’re not throwing people off giant hamster wheels anymore. Cheers to you all!
