I’m pretty sure at one point, I blinked, and a major plot point happened. It’s that fast-paced. You can’t afford to miss a single second, or you’ll spend the next twenty minutes trying to piece it back together.
The interactions between the characters are always so charged. Even a casual conversation feels like a high-stakes negotiation. There’s always a power play happening under the surface.
And Carrie’s hair. It's always a bit of a mess, isn't it? But somehow, it works. It adds to her whole "I'm stressed but still fabulous" vibe.
Now, here’s my unpopular opinion. While everyone else is focused on the big global conspiracies, I’m often more invested in the smaller, more personal moments. The little glimpses into what makes these characters tick.

And all the tactical jargon! It’s impressive how they make it sound so real. I’m convinced half of it is just made up on the spot, but it sounds convincing!
I sometimes wonder if the actors get confused too. Like, "Wait, who am I supposed to be suspicious of now?" It must be a mental workout.
But even with all the confusion and the high drama, there's something undeniably compelling about Homeland. It’s a show that makes you think, even when you’re just trying to relax.
So, Episode 7 of Season 5, "Oriole." Was it a masterpiece? Was it a hot mess? It was probably a little bit of both, as is tradition.
It delivered on the spy thrills, the emotional turmoil, and the signature Carrie Mathison brand of chaos. And that’s enough for me.
Did it explain the "Oriole" thing? Not really. But hey, at least we got some dramatic music and some intense staring. That's a win in my book.
