Okay, so, remember Lost? Yeah, that show. The one that had us all glued to our screens, trying to figure out if the polar bear was, like, a metaphor. Or if Jack was ever going to stop being so angsty. Or, you know, what the heck was up with that hatch. It feels like a million years ago, right? But guess what? It’s 2019, and these guys are still out there, doing… well, stuff. Let’s just peek behind the curtain, shall we? Coffee’s brewing, so pull up a chair!
First up, the man, the myth, the legend himself: Matthew Fox. Our brooding Jack Shephard. Where’s he been hiding? Well, he hasn't exactly been churning out blockbusters like it's his job (because, surprise! It is his job). He took a bit of a breather after Lost wrapped. You know, probably spent some quality time contemplating the meaning of life, or maybe just perfecting his beard game. He did pop up in some smaller projects, like the film Bone Tomahawk – if you like your Westerns a little… gooey. And then there was Last Light, a mini-series that was, you know, a thing. He’s not exactly on every billboard, but he’s definitely not vanished into thin air. Unlike some of our favorite characters, am I right? wink
Then we have Evangeline Lilly, our fierce Kate Austen. She’s been busy, busy, busy! Forget the jungle, this lady is living the superhero life. She joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Wasp in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Pretty cool, huh? She’s basically the Queen of the Tiny Realm now. And honestly, who wouldn't want to shrink down and go on epic adventures? Plus, she got to hang out with Paul Rudd. Lucky!
Speaking of the MCU, remember Josh Holloway? Sawyer! That charming rogue with a heart of gold (and a lot of questionable decisions). He’s also dipped his toes into the world of superheroes. He lent his voice to… wait for it… Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Yep, he was Prowler. How’s that for a career pivot? From con man on a deserted island to a villain in the animated universe. He’s also been doing some TV work, like the show Colony. Still with the dramatic roles, it seems. He’s got that smolder down, you know? It just works.
What about our favorite doc, Jorge Garcia? Hurley! The lovable, snack-loving goofball who had a knack for winning the lottery. He’s been keeping himself entertained, bless his heart. He’s had recurring roles on shows like Once Upon a Time, playing the ever-so-charming Anton. And then there was Hawaii Five-0. He’s definitely not afraid to embrace a good character arc. He still has that infectious laugh, I bet. You just know it. He’s like a human ray of sunshine, even when he’s dealing with magical curses or, you know, the usual island drama.
And our resident rockstar, Dominic Monaghan? Charlie Pace! That guy who sang about his little brother and really, really loved his drugs. He’s been pretty active, actually! He’s been involved in a bunch of documentaries and nature shows. Because, let’s be real, he’s always had a bit of an adventurer vibe, hasn’t he? He’s also been acting, appearing in shows like The Oath and the movie StarDog and TurboCat. He’s still rocking that distinctive look, you can’t miss him. Probably still jamming out to some Oasis.
Oh, and Emilie de Ravin! Claire Littleton. The sweet, slightly unhinged mom. She’s also been busy. She joined the cast of Once Upon a Time as Belle. Yep, she traded the Dharma Initiative for fairy tales. Talk about a glow-up! She was also in the series Roswell, New Mexico. She’s got that delicate beauty that just, you know, fits. She’s definitely not stuck on an island anymore, that’s for sure. Probably enjoying some actual sunshine.
Let’s not forget our brooding and mysterious Ben Linus. Michael Emerson. That guy could chew scenery like it was his job. And he still is! He’s been absolutely killing it in the voice acting world. He was the AI A.R.I.A. in S.H.I.E.L.D., and then he was the voice of the villain in the video game Dishonored. He’s also been in shows like The Good Fight and Evil. He’s one of those actors who just elevates everything he’s in. He probably still has that slightly sinister twinkle in his eye, even when he’s just ordering a latte.
And what about John Locke? Terry O’Quinn. The man of faith, the man of mystery. He’s been around, but not in the typical Hollywood way. He’s been doing more guest spots and smaller roles. He was in the TV movie Captain K.O. and had a role in the film First Man. He’s like the wise old hermit of Hollywood, popping up when you least expect him. He probably spends his days fishing or contemplating the nature of destiny. You just know it.
And the one and only Desmond Hume! Henry Ian Cusick. Broody Scotsman with a penchant for time travel. He’s been quite active in the TV world. He was in Scandal as Marcus Walker, which was a pretty big deal. Then he moved on to shows like The Passage and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He’s got that effortlessly cool vibe, doesn’t he? He could probably get away with anything. Still looks good, too. Probably still has that accent.
Let’s not forget the lovely Sun-Hwa Kwon! Yunjin Kim. She’s been keeping busy back in South Korea, where she’s been a huge star. She’s been in a number of films and TV shows there. She’s been in the K-drama Ms. Ma, Nemesis and the film Pawn. She’s definitely not lacking for work, that’s for sure. She’s probably still gorgeous. Of course she is. She’s Yunjin Kim!
And Jin-Soo Kwon! Daniel Dae Kim. The husband who was always trying to protect Sun. He’s been everywhere! He was in the reboot of Hawaii Five-0 as Chin Ho Kelly for years. Talk about a steady gig. He also had a role in the MCU film Spider-Man: Homecoming. And he’s been doing a lot of voice work, including the video game Saints Row IV. He’s a man of many talents. And he’s still got that charming smile.
What about the ever-so-charming, slightly creepy Richard Alpert? Nestor Carbonell. He’s been doing a lot of TV work. He was a regular on Bates Motel, which was a pretty intense show. And then he showed up on The Morning Show. He’s one of those actors who can play so many different kinds of characters. He’s got that intensity, you know? He’s probably still rocking those perfectly gelled-back locks.
And let’s not forget the mysterious, possibly immortal Eloise Hawking. Fionnula Flanagan. She’s a legend, a true acting powerhouse. She’s been doing theatre and guest spots on TV. She appeared in an episode of The Good Karma Hospital and was in the film The Black Donnellys. She’s one of those actors who you just love to watch. She’s probably still full of wisdom and probably doesn’t suffer fools gladly.
So, there you have it. A little update on our favorite island dwellers. They’re not all on the same beach anymore, but they’re out there, doing their thing. Some are battling villains, some are playing superheroes, and some are just… well, living their lives. It’s kind of comforting, in a weird way, to know they’re still around.
