Remember Bones? That amazing show with the super-smart forensic anthropologist and the hunky FBI agent? It feels like just yesterday we were all hooked. We watched Temperance Brennan, aka Bones, solve gruesome crimes with science. And of course, there was her partner, Seeley Booth, with his charm and questionable gut feelings.
The whole crew at the Jeffersonian Institute was so entertaining. From the quirky interns to the ever-so-sarcastic Angela Montenegro and the conspiracy-loving Jack Hodgins, they were the family we wished we had. And let's not forget the endlessly hilarious Zack Addy and the stoic pathologist, Dr. Jack Hodgins.
So, what are these brilliant minds and charming personalities up to now? Are they still dissecting bodies and chasing criminals? Or have they retired to a quiet life of… well, maybe not quiet. These people were never quiet.
Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel)
Our brilliant Dr. Brennan, played by the equally brilliant Emily Deschanel, is still very much in the public eye. She’s not solving murders anymore, which is probably for the best. Imagine the paperwork.
Instead, she’s been busy with other cool projects. She recently starred in the TV show The Rookie. She played a different kind of law enforcement officer there, but still with that sharp intelligence we loved. You know she’d ace any police academy quiz.
And for all the animal lovers out there, Emily Deschanel is a huge advocate for animal rights. She’s a vegan and has worked with various organizations to promote animal welfare. So, while she might not be at the Jeffersonian anymore, she’s definitely using her brain for good. Maybe she’s analyzing the dietary habits of endangered species. That sounds like a Bones-level investigation.
Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz)
And what about our favorite FBI agent, Seeley Booth? Played by the ever-charming David Boreanaz, he’s still bringing the heat to our screens. He’s not chasing bad guys in a trench coat anymore, but he’s definitely still in the thick of it.
David Boreanaz is currently starring in the CBS drama SEAL Team. He plays a U.S. Navy SEAL, which sounds about right for Booth. He’s always been a man of action and intense missions. We can only assume he’s still saving the day, probably with fewer skull fragments involved.
He also directed a few episodes of Bones back in the day. That’s some serious multi-tasking. You know he’d probably be directing a few episodes of SEAL Team too. It’s like he can’t help but be in charge and make things happen.
Angela Montenegro (Michaela Conlin)
Our beloved artistic genius, Angela Montenegro, played by the fabulous Michaela Conlin, is also staying creatively busy. She’s traded in her digital sketchpad for other exciting ventures.
Michaela Conlin has been in various TV shows and movies since Bones wrapped up. You might have seen her in The Fall of the House of Usher or the series Yellowstone. She’s showing off her versatility, proving she’s more than just the queen of forensic art.
She’s also a mom, balancing her career with family life. Just like Angela would, she’s probably creating beautiful art at home while listening to obscure indie music. And we bet her artistic interpretations of everyday life are just as stunning as her crime scene reconstructions.
Dr. Jack Hodgins (T.J. Thyne)
Our resident eccentric billionaire and bug enthusiast, Dr. Jack Hodgins, brought to life by T.J. Thyne, is still dabbling in… well, everything. He’s a man of many, many interests.
T.J. Thyne has continued to work in television and film. He’s had guest roles on shows like The Good Doctor and The Orville. He’s got that unique spark that makes you lean in and wonder what he’s going to do next.
He’s also an accomplished artist and sculptor in real life. So, while Hodgins might have been stuck in a wheelchair for a bit, the real T.J. Thyne is probably building magnificent structures and creating intricate pieces. Maybe he’s designing a better bug habitat. That would be very Hodgins-like.
Dr. Camille Saroyan (Tamara Taylor)
The no-nonsense, incredibly capable Dr. Camille Saroyan, played by the elegant Tamara Taylor, is still conquering the acting world. She’s a force to be reckoned with, much like her character.
Tamara Taylor has been a regular on several TV series. She was in the show October Faction and had a role in Law & Order: Organized Crime. She’s proving that age is just a number and talent never fades.
She’s also a mother, managing her busy career and family. You can just picture her at home, organizing everything with the same precision she brought to the lab. She’s probably giving lectures on efficient laundry folding techniques. That’s definitely a Cam skill.
Dr. Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley)
Oh, sweet Dr. Sweets! The charming psychologist who always had Booth and Brennan’s backs. John Francis Daley, who played him, has moved into directing and screenwriting. And boy, has he been successful!
John Francis Daley co-wrote and co-directed the incredibly popular Marvel movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. He also co-wrote Spider-Man: Far From Home. Talk about a career glow-up! From analyzing interpersonal dynamics to crafting superhero sagas, he’s done it all.
He also co-wrote and directed the comedy film Game Night, which was hilarious. It makes sense; he always had a witty way with words on Bones. I bet he’s currently brainstorming ideas for his next blockbuster, probably with a whiteboard full of interconnected plot points and very, very specific character backstories.
Vincent Nigel-Murray (Ryan Cartwright)
Our beloved, quoting-machine intern, Vincent Nigel-Murray, played by Ryan Cartwright, had a tragically short run on the show. But he left a big impression!
Ryan Cartwright has continued to act in various projects. He appeared in the series Madam Secretary and the film The Comeback Trail. He’s keeping the acting chops sharp, and we love to see it.
He’s also a musician. This isn’t surprising, considering Nigel-Murray’s quirky charm. We can imagine him strumming a guitar and singing songs about obscure historical facts or the proper classification of bones. It’s an unpopular opinion, but I think he’d be a fantastic folk singer.
Wendell Bray (Michael Grant Terry)
Another one of our favorite interns, Wendell Bray, played by Michael Grant Terry, is still acting up a storm. He was the one with the heart of gold and a slightly rough past.
Michael Grant Terry has had guest spots on many popular shows. You might have seen him on CSI: Cyber, Lucifer, and The Walking Dead. He’s popping up everywhere, like a friendly ghost in a crime scene.
He’s also directed short films. This shows a creative drive that mirrors his on-screen character’s determination. I bet he’s directing a documentary about the best ways to find a good burrito. That’s a problem Wendell would absolutely solve.
Zach Addy (Eric Millegan)
Ah, Zach Addy. The brilliant, slightly naive intern who went through so much. Eric Millegan, the actor who portrayed him, has taken a different path.
Eric Millegan has been open about his struggles with bipolar disorder. He’s become an advocate for mental health awareness. This is a brave and important step, and he’s making a real difference.
While he’s not actively pursuing acting as much, his impact on Bones was unforgettable. We all remember his earnest attempts to understand Booth’s idioms. He’s a testament to the fact that sometimes, the most important work happens off-screen. And if he’s advocating for mental health, that’s even more impressive than solving a complex murder.
It’s amazing to see where everyone has landed since we last saw them in the Jeffersonian. They’ve all gone on to do incredible things, both in their careers and in their personal lives.
So next time you’re feeling a bit nostalgic for the days of dissecting bodies and deciphering cryptic clues, just remember that the cast of Bones is still out there, making their mark on the world. And maybe, just maybe, they’re all still secretly comparing notes on the best forensic techniques. You never know with these guys!
